D. Woods: My Living Room Self

There has been a lot of "talk" lately and many want to know what it must have been like to walk in D. Woods' shoes. "MY LIVING ROOM SELF" is an exploration of D. Woods in her most uninhibited, unapologetic, authentic element, on stage but in her living room.

“I have always found sanctuary in the activity of creativity. However, I have also experienced a recurring conflict between the healing of creativity vs. the toll that creative industries take on a person's mental health."

For one night, in this intimate setting, D. Woods will invite the audience to get to know her like never before. We will explore identity, measures of success, anxiety, depression, and means of coping with the pressure to appear “OK”. DANCE like nobody's watching, SING like no one is listening, and dive deeper into the facade of statements like “I'm Fine” and “You should talk to somebody”. All too often that is where the discussion stops. MY LIVING ROOM SELF invites you drop the guard that is needed for the lights, camera and social media. It's time to get real!!!
